Devised by Joseph Pilates, Pilates is an exercise technique that emphasizes the balanced development of the body through core strength, flexibility, and awareness. Our day to day lifestyles of rushing around, bending and lifting, sitting at desks and spending long periods of time sat in cars can greatly effect the way our muscles and joints function and therefore effect our posture. Pilates works on the alignment, centring and strength throughout our bodies to help correct these common problem allowing our pelvis and spine to come back to their natural shape and placement.
